There could be some minor flooding in southern Fairfield County overnight Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
“Torrential downpours” are expected to develop late Friday into Saturday morning, the NWS said. The showers could result in rainfall rates of one to two inches per hour, presenting a localized threat for flash flooding.
Waterfront locations will be at the greatest risk of flooding during high tide, which will occur between 10 p.m. and midnight.
A hazardous weather outlook will also be in place from Friday to Saturday from Fairfield County up to New Haven County.
“Numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop along a stalling frontal boundary late tonight through Saturday,” the NWS said.
