DARIEN — A 18-year-old Darien man was arrested on a warrant after the car he was traveling in was pulled over for not having a license plate, police said.
On Nov. 20 around 8:25 a.m., an officer on patrol pulled over a white Audi on Heights Road for not having a license plate. When the officer pulled the car over, the driver said the vehicle belonged to the passenger, Matthew Maignan. The officer checked Maiganan’s information and found there was a warrant out for the Allen O’Neill Drive resident for failing to appear in court.
Based on the warrant, the officer placed Maignan under arrest. The driver of the car was also issued several motor infractions and the Audi was towed from the scene. Maignan was transported back to headquarters where he was charged with failure to appear in the second degree. He was released on a $2,500 bond and given a Dec. 1 court date.
