Darien business owner recognized for accomplishments

Ashley Krauss, the owner of A Little Something White bridal couture in Darien, recently was honored with a Fairfield County 40 Under 40 award.

Sponsored by the Fairfield County Business Journal, the program aims to recognize accomplished professionals under the age of 40. The awards were presented June 19 at the Palace in Stamford.

Krauss, 32, the mother of two children, said in a news release about receiving the 40 Under 40 designation, "For me, the award is further affirmation that the gutsy move to start my business was absolutely the best decision I could have made."

Krauss, who left an eight-year career in finance, opened her Darien store two years ago. The boutique offers designer wedding gowns, plus accessories and bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. Krauss soon hopes to expand to bridal shoes and occasion dresses.

As for the future, she possibly might open a second location.

"Given the success we've had thus far, I could see this happening sooner, rather than later," she said.

A Little Something White bridal couture also was awarded The Knot Best of Weddings 2013 and 2014, Wedding Wire Couples Choice Award 2014, Moffly Best of the Gold Coast 2013 and Serendipity Magazine Best of 2014.
