Bridgeport Police make arrest in city’s 23rd homicide of 2017

BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport Police made an arrest Friday in connection with the city’s 23rd homicide of 2017.

“On this date (Friday) an arrest warrant was obtained for Jarod Hamilton ... charging him with the murder of Khali Davis,” police said.

Davis, 22, was fatally shot on Dec. 23, 2017, at the Maple Street Mini Market on Kossuth Street. Police said an investigation showed that the murder was the result of an ongoing gang dispute.

Hamilton, 19, was taken into custody without incident on Harriett Street, police said. His bond was set at $1 million. Hamilton's lawyer, Michael Riley, declined to comment on his client's arrest.

“This arrest is the result of the Detective Bureau, Homicide Unit — led by Detective LaMaine — and the investigation led by Detective Jorge Cintron,” said Capt. Roderick Porter.
