DARIEN — An iPad was taken from one of three unlocked cars entered over the course of several days.
On Aug. 4 around 7 a.m., Darien officers responded to a home on Rainbow Circle where they received a complaint about two unlocked cars being entered. The owner said he left the cars, a 2013 BMW and a 2015 Ford F150, around 8:30 p.m. Aug. 3. A $500 Apple iPad was stolen from the front console of the BMW.
Less than an hour later, police received another report of an entry into an unlocked car less than a mile away on Leroy Avenue. The owner said she was visiting relatives in the area and had left the unlocked 2010 Prius in a driveway for two weeks. Nothing was taken from the car and there was no damage, but further investigation revealed surveillance video that showed a male suspect entering the car around 1:20 a.m. on July 28.
Police are continuing to investigate both these incidents.
