The Waters Edge at Giovanni's in Darien is hosting its fourth annual Vow Renewal and Wedding Celebration on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.
Ceremonies will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.
For four years, the celebration has allowed couples in Connecticut to renew their marriage vows or get married free of charge. The Waters Edge at Giovanni's, 2748 Boston Post Road, provides a complimentary champagne toast, and a prix fixe dinner is available throughout the evening.
The ceremony is open to married, same-sex and unmarried couples seeking a legal marriage. Marriage licenses are not required for vow renewals, but are for marriages. A license can be obtained for $30 at Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road, Darien, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
"We see couples young and old, traditional and same-sex -- it's a general celebration of love," JoAnn LaTorraca, a second-generation owner of the Waters Edge at Giovanni's, said.
Since 2011, more than 100 people have come to the Waters Edge at Giovanni's to reaffirm their love. Guests enjoy all the adornments of a wedding -- floral arrangements, professional photographers and a justice of the peace.
Justice of the Peace Mary C. Pugh has been recognized in the top 5 percent of officiants by Wedding Wire and received two Best of the Knot awards. She has officiated the ceremony since its inception.
Couples who preregister will receive a personalized certificate signifying the renewal of vows from Pugh.
The prix fixe dinner menu will include gnocci with a lobster truffle sauce, osso bucco milanese with gorgonzola risotto and seafood risotto.
The establishment has hosted countless nuptial ceremonies. Wedding Wire recently honored the Waters Edge with the 2014 Couples' Choice Award.
