International violinist David Podles will commemorate the composers from centuries past in a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
Podles, of Riga, Latvia, is laureate of three international competitions and received a doctorate in violin from a conservatory in Riga.
He performed in symphony, chamber, opera and ballet theater orchestras both solo, in orchestra and on tour across Russia, including Bolshoi and Kirov, and throughout Europe and the United States.
Upon arrival in the U.S., he performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the 92nd Street Y, both solo and in orchestra. Most recently, he performed at Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center.
