The Darien Police Department's Youth Division is investigating an underage drinking party on Mansfield Avenue June 6.
The party was reported to police after three young males were seen by a passerby carrying beer cases to the home around 8 p.m., according to the report.
Police met with the 16-year-old female resident who told them she would get her mother, who supposedly was sleeping upstairs. It was then, police said, that she tried to run away.
When police located her, she told them she ran and lied because she was scared, the report stated. Her parents were away for the evening and the 16-year-old was supposed to be watched by a family friend, who stopped by the house while police were on scene, the report stated.
Police said they found a bottle of vodka and tequila, as well as Keystone, Miller Lite and Coors Lite beer cans in the backyard. A table by the pool was covered in red plastic cups, police said.
No arrests were made.
