Burr Tweedy, of Darien, was a first-place winner for photography in the "Focus Under 40" annual exhibition at the Rowayton Arts Center.
Kyle King, also from Darien, received an honorable mention for photography. Susan Andershock and Stephanie Bridges, of Darien, also entered in the exhibition.
Juror Mari Gyorgyey said, "What an honor it is to judge this exhibition at the Rowayton Art Center. Having taught classes for 20 years, every age group, I must confess my favorite is working with the young adults. Their energy, passion, and willingness to takes risks is thought provoking and inspiring.
"My judging for any exhibit is based on the artist's knowledge and utilization of the selected technique. Equally important is content choice and the significance of the artwork to itself and the viewer. All of the artists in this exhibition understand these criteria and made my job a difficult one. Bravo to each artist and keep practicing your art every day with abandon."
The exhibit in the main gallery of the Rowayton Arts Center, 145 Rowayton Ave., in the Rowayton section of Norwalk, continues through June 29. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
