Thursday's global issues lecture is canceled

The Darien Community Association's Academic Lecture Series on Global Issues' session "The Digital Dragon: China's Role in Cyberspace," scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23, has been canceled.

The guest speaker, Charles Freeman III, is unable to attend.

The lecture series continues at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, with "China's Maritime Neighbors," presented by Sheila Smith, of the Council of Foreign Relations.

On Monday, Jan. 27, "The New Guard's Agenda: U.S.-China Relations" will be addressed by Ken Lieberthal, of the Brookings Institution. A reception takes place at 7:30 p.m., with the lecture at 8.
