Darien police have obtained an arrest warrant for Dirk C. Lloyd, 36, of 68 Melrose Ave., Bridgeport, in connection with the November theft of more than $20,000 in gold jewelry and coins from a West Avenue home.
He will be charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny, police said.
In February, the Miami Beach, Fla., police department apprehended Lloyd as a fugitive from justice and he was extradited to New York, according to Darien police.
He currently is in New York City police custody for burglaries he is accused of committing in Nassau County and Queen, N.Y., according to police.
The Darien burglary matches a pattern of dozens of others throughout Fairfield County and in New York, according to police.
The Darien Detective Division executed a search warrant on Lloyd's residence in Bridgeport and recovered evidence linked to other burglaries in Fairfield County, police said.
Two other local police departments will also be applying for arrest warrants for Lloyd on similar charges.
When Lloyd will be extradited to Connecticut is not yet known.
