Students participate in literacy project

Pear Tree Point School fifth- and sixth-graders recently teamed up with the Family and Children's Agency in Norwalk in a community service literacy project. The students brought a new book of their choosing along with a new copy of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" to read to preschoolers during story time and then gave them the books for their home libraries. The FCA provides programs for children aged 6 months and up and offers support, guidance and classes for parents to help them develop parenting skills.
