Ribbon cut at Amanda Smith Caterers

Amanda Smith Caterers opened its new location at 1480 Post Road Saturday, March 1, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Darien Chamber of Commerce-sponsored ceremony included several board members, among them Kaye Leong of Darien Rowayton Bank, John Lundeen of Cliffside Associates, Laurie Griffith of Darien Bank & Trust and Bill Jensen of Darien Toy Box.

The new location, which has a tasting space and offices, has a state-of-the-art kitchen to host cooking classes and demonstrations.

Amanda Smith Caterers, a catering and event-planning company, was established in New York in 2002 and expanded into Connecticut in 2011.

The company has a relationship with an organic farm in Fairfield run by the Grant family from which much of the produce is sourced.

Amanda Smith Caterers also offers En Route, a farm-to-table take-home dinner service offering prepared meals for those who do not have time to cook. En Route meals are cooked fresh every morning with locally sourced products and packed in oven-ready, recyclable containers.

Menus are posted weekly on www.enroutedinners.com. Orders must be made by 3 p.m., and pickup is between 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The store also stocks products made by local artisans.
