The sixth annual Paddles with a Purpose, which took place April 5 at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, raised $7,800 for Stamford Hospital's Bennett Cancer Center.

All funds raised will support the programs and services provided by the Bennett Cancer Center to patients and their families.

Thirty teams of players from Fairfield and Westchester counties participated. Each year, the competition is elevated with some of the top teams having nationally ranked participants, although there is a good mix for all abilities, with brackets for all skill levels.

The winners were David Mueller and Mark Innes from Fairfield County's Country Club of Darien, who prevailed over Victor Dias and Alex Dias of Westchester County.

Over the past six years, the trophy has been shared equally between the counties.
