"IMAGINE 2014: A Night on Broadway," a fundraiser for Family & Children's Agency at the Woodway Country Club in May raised nearly $250,000.
"We are thrilled with the success of `IMAGINE 2014: A Night on Broadway,'" Robert F. Cashel, president and CEO of the FCA, said. "The benefit is the agency's largest annual fundraiser, raising nearly $250,000, with 89 cents of every dollar donated going directly to supporting client services. We are grateful for our dedicated co-chairs, enthusiastic committee, and generous sponsors and donors for their support."
The co-chairmen were Julene Greensheilds, the FCA board chairman, and Kristine Reddington Herlyn, Dana Nickel and Deanna Bergin, of Darien.
Randye Kaye, speaker, author and radio personality, was the master of ceremonies and auctioneer. Music was provided by The 4 Chordsmen during cocktail hour and by RSVP at dinner. The silent auction included more than 60 packages, and an evening at FCA's Bridgeport Bluefish suite at Harbor Yard, a sunset yacht cruise, tickets to the 2015 Masters tournament, a summer food truck party for 50 and a week-long trip to an exclusive, luxury resort in Belize.
At dinner, guests heard a presentation from a foster care adolescent, who dealt with a number of hurdles throughout her life and first became connected to FCA while living in a therapeutic foster home through the agency's specialized foster care program. She graduated from high school this year and will attend Norwalk Community College this fall. She emphasized FCA's role in guiding her through some of the most difficult times in her life.
