The Bret Williams Quartet will perform at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
Classical guitarist/composer Bret Williams will premiere eight original pieces as well as perform works by Heitor Villa-Lobos of Brazil and Astor Piazzolla of Argentina.
Williams has been hailed as a guitarist of "spectacular energy and technical resource" by the Nylon Review and billed as a "rising star in the New York classical guitar scene" by the New York Classical Guitar Society.
Raised in central California, Williams studied with Terry Mills from the University of the Pacific. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Austin while under the instruction of Adam Holzman.
