Alexander Rayhill named DAR Good Citizen

Alexander Rayhill received the 2013-2014 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.

Alexander Rayhill, son of Brian and Annemarie Rayhill, is the recipient of the 2013-14 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.

An annual presentation of the Good Wife's River Chapter, the award is given to a Darien High School senior who best exemplifies the qualities of patriotism, citizenship, dependability and service to the community.

Rayhill was selected by the senior class and the faculty at DHS. He received the award pin and certificate from DAR Good Citizen Chairman Diana Angstadt during the holiday celebration at the Darien Historical Society.

Rayhill prides himself on being a strong citizen, a leader among his peers and a friend to all.

He is a member of the National Honor Society. He engaged in an independent engineering research program that culminated in substantial improvements

to the Darien High School cafeteria.

An Eagle Scout, Rayhill built bookcases that are now in the library of a Bronx, N.Y., community center.

He is a volunteer with the Darien Fire Department, and serves as an usher at St. John Church in Darien.

Athletically, Rayhill is a three-season runner with the Darien High School track and cross country teams. His future plans include college.
