Republican Terrie Wood is ready to represent the 141st General Assembly District for another two years.
"I really want to do this again," Wood said at Darien Town Hall following her nomination May 14. "I love the issues, and one-party rule is not right in any state."
Wood has served three terms representing the district, which covers Darien and Norwalk.
"I've always loved the Revolutionary War and I love being part of this rebellious group that's pushing back against one-party rule," Wood said.
Wood was honored as the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies' Family Legislator of the Year in April for her leadership and commitment to services that improve the lives of families in Connecticut.
"Terrie keeps the needs of her Darien and Norwalk constituents as her high priority and represents those interests well in Hartford," Dawn Crouch, co-chairman of the Republican Town Committee candidate recruitment committee , who nominated Wood for re-election, said.
Wood serves as the co-chairman of the Mental Health Working Group of the Gun Violence and School Security Bill, which was formed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December 2012.
Wood and her husband, John, have lived in Darien for more than 30 years and have three children.
"Thank you for your faith and trust in me," Wood said.
