A one-car accident on Hollow Tree Ridge Road at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday closed the area at Deepwood and Middlesex roads, according to police.
A man in his 50s struck a utility pole -- snapping it in half -- while driving a Lexus SUV. Utility crews have been on scene repairing the pole and are expected to finish their work at about 4 p.m.
The Connecticut Light & Power Co. reports no power outages.
The man's identity has yet to be released and no injuries were reported. The car was towed from the scene.
